At COPEKCB2M, we provide mentorsCOPEKCB2M (Clergy Observing Public Education – Kansas City Boys to Men)
Faith-based mentoring initiative developed through COPE (Clergy Observing Public Education).
Designed to mentor and support young males ages 10–16 throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Focuses on helping boys transition into responsible, productive, and community-minded men.
Build partnerships between churches, schools, parents, and community leaders to support youth
development.
Provides positive male role models through pastors and approved community mentors.
Encourages:
o Academic achievement
o Leadership development
o Character building
o Social-emotional growth
o Spiritual guidance
o Responsible decision-making
Mentors assist students with:
o Goal setting
o Peer pressure challenges
o School engagement
o Life skills
o Career awareness
o Personal accountability
Program activities may include:
o Academic support and tutoring
o Leadership workshops
o Community service projects
o Recreational and enrichment outings
o Group discussions and mentoring sessions
o College and career exposure opportunities
Operates with strong safety and accountability standards:
o Mandatory background checks for all mentors
o Parent/guardian partnership and involvement
o Confidentiality and transparency expectations
o “Never alone with a child” safety policy
Seeks to reduce negative outcomes among youth by increasing mentorship, positive engagement, and
community support.
